COMMUNITY

Safety is important to all of us. SCO is working hard to make Ottawa a safer place to live, learn, work and play.

PAST INITIATIVES

Safe Communities Ottawa and the City of Ottawa are proud partners in Drowning Prevention Initiatives, through the delivery of the Swim to Survive program. Since 2007, more than 6,000 students have participated in this program. In the 2008-2009 school year, 2871 school children  participated in the Swim to Survive Program.

Swim to Survive is a Lifesaving Society survival training program. The Lifesaving Society aims to have every Grade 3 student in Ontario achieve the Swim to Survive Standard. http://www.lifesavingsociety.com
