The Workplace Safety Committee (WSC) is a sub-committee of SCO and was established to oversee and monitor the successful implementation and development of the Passport to Safety and the Passport Employer programs in the Ottawa area. The WSC works diligently to encourage both employers and young workers to embrace these safety programs and to take an initiative when it comes to health and safety in the workplace.
We believe accidents are predictable and therefore preventable. To this end we work hard to keep our community safe. The responsibility of safety in the workplace belongs to all of us. Please join us in striving to make our community safer. Be responsible, be informed, be aware. If at any time you have questions about workplace safety, are looking for safety information or need direction in how to take action regarding safety in your workplace please do not hesitate to contact us.
OBJECTIVES
To designate 100 Ottawa based businesses as Passport Employers and to assist the national Passport to Safety organization to "challenge" 5000 young workers to earn their Passport to Safety transcripts.
