Workplace health and safety is something many people dont think about. Tragically, each year approximately 60,000 young Canadians experience disabling and disfiguring injuries while on the job.  Passport to Safety provides young people with the minimum they need to know before going to work. As an employer you can take the initiative and commit to hire only those young workers who have successfully challenged Passport to Safety. In doing this, you are committing to keep your employees, our youth and our entire community safer. Become a Passport to Employer and help us raise the bar on safety in Ottawa.

  • A safer, happier, less costly workplace
  • Access to young workers who are familiar with basic workplace responsibilities
  • Access to young workers who are ready for mandatory and job-specific safety training
  • Opportunity to improve safety in your workplace and your community
  • Passport to Safety cards customized with your company’s logo
  • Access to free tools, free resources and discounts on safety training
  • Recognition as a Passport Employer

Six times more injuries happen to young people in their first month than any other time on the job.

Two thirds of young workers never receive a safety training manual for their job.

Over half receive NO safety training for new tasks.

"The antidote to injury is attitude:  an injection of awareness, caring and learning into the minds and hearts of everyone around us."
